Padx

We created a mobile app for Padx with unique home-buying features, then redesigned their existing site to resemble the mobile interface in this web and mobile design case study.

Introduction

Padx sought to make the home buying process as easy as possible and needed both a mobile app design and a responsive real estate website design with robust features that aren’t typically found in real estate products.

The
Challenge

Padx saw an opportunity in the real estate space to create a digital product that simplified and streamlined the home buying process. They wanted features that included the ability to view a home, schedule a tour, communicate with an agent, and make an offer all within the same mobile application. For this web and mobile design case study, we were tasked with creating the app and a responsive real estate website design to match the new mobile features.

The
Solution

The real estate vertical is pretty populated with sites and applications across the world that we took inspiration from for the new Padx app, but there were plenty of features that we had to create new flows for. We wanted to guide the user through each process with an easy-to-understand wizard that anyone could use.

After mapping out the various user flows for each feature of the product, we designed the structure of the application with wireframes to give us a skeleton of what the finished result would look like. We then used this as a springboard to develop a finished high-fidelity mockup.

Research

We took a deep dive into the real estate vertical to gain an understanding of how other products were solving various flows.

Planning

Mapping out the user flows helped us understand how users would be interacting with the products.

With user flows in hand, we went to work designing wireframes around them, which we then ramped up to high-fidelity mockups.

Design

For the website redesign, we took the high-fidelity mockups and developed them into a finished product that went live for users to interact with.

Project Summary

Padx is a real estate product but one with many more features than you’d typically find like a wizard to submit a new offer, a chat with an agent feature, and the ability to schedule a showing from your phone. The goal was to make the home buying process seamless and smooth. We researched the vertical to help us understand existing flows while we meticulously planned out new ones, and then we designed around these user flows to optimize the experience. We also developed everything into a finished product.
