Introduction
The Nichols Company’s original website served its purpose initially, but it needed a facelift and reorganization of its structure to meet the needs of users in preparation for a major feature upgrade down the road.
The Challenge
The website that Nichols Company had prior to engaging us functioned okay, but it needed UX/UI improvements to remain competitive in the real estate space. They wanted to add robust new features in Phase 2 of the project, and this initial first step helped them get part of the way there. They also requested some legal documentation to help support the site in the form of a Terms of Service Document, a Privacy Policy, and a Cookies Policy.

The Solution
We evaluated their existing site to determine what was working well, and what could be improved. Taking a look at what competitors were doing also helped inform our designs as it gave us ideas on what features we could borrow and make better without making it look too templatized.
Due to the limited timeframe that we had to work with, and the fact that we had an existing site with a good framework, we designed directly in high fidelity. After developing the project first with a builder and then working outside of it when we were met with limitations, we provided quality assurance to make sure it was developed as intended.

Research
We evaluated the existing site and took a look at competitors to determine what could be improved for the new redesign.
Design
Designing directly in high fidelity helped us meet timeline considerations. Because the site had good bones, we were able to skip the wireframing process.
We began development by using a website builder on WordPress, but when we reached the limit of what it was capable of, we worked outside of it for API integrations.
Development
In order to ensure that the website was developed as designed, our team provided a robust quality assurance process.

Project Summary
Our website redesign for The Nichols Company helped them prepare for Phase 2 of their project, which consists of many new features. This first step modernized their site with a new look and feel to meet the needs of their users. We developed the site on WordPress and provided quality assurance to iron out any kinks in the development of their site. We also drafted a TOS, Privacy Policy, and Cookies Policy to ensure that all users know exactly what is expected of them when interacting with the website, and vice versa.
