Introduction
WURRLYedu saw a lack of access to easy music education, especially for kids, and wanted to correct that. They needed a marketing website as well as the entire teacher portal and classroom management section.
The
Challenge
WURRLYedu’s marketing website redesign was a fairly straightforward request, but the whole front-facing teacher portal was a larger animal. It included a classroom management section where songs could be uploaded and evaluated, and students could be managed. Our biggest challenge was that there were a lot of moving parts that all had to communicate with one another, and if one piece got updated, the whole thing had to be for consistency’s sake.

The
Solution
For the marketing website, we started by evaluating the existing site to determine what could be improved. We also looked at competitors to see what features they had that were working well. Then, we got to work on wireframing the new design and eventually moving on to hi-fidelity when the initial wireframes were approved.
Creating the teacher portal was a different animal entirely. We spent a lot more time carefully planning out the flows to make sure the user never got lost in the vast network of interactions. Once we had a good idea of how the structure of the site would look, we got to work on a UI design strategy that would house all of these flows.

Research
Evaluating competitors and the existing site informed us on what was working well and what could be improved upon.
Planning
We spent considerable time planning on how the workflows would function to ensure that users always intuitively understood where they were in the process.
We used wireframes to come up with the basic structure of the site, then we moved on to high-fidelity once those were approved.
Design
Working in Webflow, we developed the marketing website that would house the entirety of the WURRLYedu platform.

The
Deliverables
Below you will find the main deliverables that we created for WURRLYedu. For this education website design, deliverables consisted of landing pages, marketing materials, wireframes, hi-fi mockups, site maps, dashboards, website development, and the finished website itself. Each project is different and requires different deliverables to achieve success.

Project Summary
With the WURRLYedu UI design strategy, the big thing that we had to pay attention to was consistency within flows. Because there were a lot of different sections working together, we had to make sure the flows were properly done and that users were pointed to where they needed to go after they clicked on things. From there, the design and website development were relatively straightforward, with special care taken to ensure that any updates made to designs were applied to all parts of the WURRLYedu platform where necessary.
