Performance Health Partners

An Easier Way to Document Patient and Employee Concerns
Performance Health Partners wanted to streamline their Incident Management System to ensure healthcare workers could thoroughly document and track incidents reported by patients and coworkers. They asked us to overhaul the user flows and remove key friction points while making small tweaks to improve the branding.
HIPPA compliance is always our primary goal for the strictly regulated healthcare industry. This meant constructing a new permissions hierarchy allowing certain users to create, track, submit, and edit forms on top cleaning up existing user flows. We also worked closely with their legal team to determine which components could be reused to solidify a smooth transition to the new interface.

Exploring Logical Reporting Flows
We began our research process as we normally do; by interviewing key users and stakeholders to identify pain points with the existing incident reporting app. Once we had that data, we needed to figure out how we would cover all the right bases with the new flows while prioritizing compliance and app permissions.
We conducted a thorough competitive analysis of similar products in the healthcare space. We closely studied the behavioral patterns to see what processes we could adopt. By weaving these features and functionalities into the sitemap, we mapped out the end-to-end experience of incident reporting, denoting where permissions were housed in the new architecture and demonstrating all the possible user paths.

Designing an Award-Winning Reporting Workflow
With a frictionless reporting journey outlined, we filled in the blanks by designing wireframes for each screen. We kept these designs bare-boned to clearly indicate the necessary actions to fulfill each reporting step. At this stage, we also brainstormed with the client on how to improve the visuals in the reusable components to fit with the new designs, which helped us transition to the branding phase of our project.

Guiding the Experience with a Refined Brand Identity
The client liked their existing brand, so we provided multiple options for icons, color systems, and app components to expand their visual identity and make the experience more intuitive. To ensure consistency in the new system, we pulled all the information we had about their visual identity (including new elements) into a styleguide to set guidelines and limitations around the usage of their brand.
